Network drive mapping before logon
Here goes : I have a mapped Network drive on my win 7 system. I purposely choosed not to tick "reconnect at logon" cause I don't want the drive to be automatically reconnected. Problem : at startup, Win 7 logins and all programs relying on the mapped folders are lost. What I'd want : at startup, have win7 display a credentials input windows and wait until I input them or cancel before proceeding. Do you have same user name and password on both client and server computers? If not, you can open Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Credential Manager, delete the credential of the mapped drive. When the session window pops up when you access mapped drive, uncheck Remember user name and password. If you have same user name and password, please change one of the password. You will need to enter user name and password whenever you access shares.Arthur Xie - MSFT

User names and password are different on client and server. I went to the credential manager but there was no credentials for the mapped drive. I quite don'T get what you mean by the session windows : my computer is not configured with multiple users, hence it just go dtraight to the desktop at boot.
