Network connection dropping
Hey!Well, my network card seems to deactivate itself, when I play Football Manager 2009. It is usually when I play the game and download at the same time. When it drops the connection to the network, the little logo on the lower right side of the screen gives me the yellow sign(you know the limited access to the internet thing). And then I can't do anything else than reboot to gain access again as the card can't find any network nearby, when I interrupt the connection to my own network(a zyxel router connected to a belkin wireless router). This solution only works until I play FM 2009 again. So far it's only when I play that particular game. I have formatted my pc several times due to this problem, but it doesn't fix anything. Its not due to any updates as it does it whether I update my network drivers or not. My pc is set to "maximum performance(I'm not familiar with the english windows term for "hj ydeevne")" under battery settings - so hopefully that isn't the reason for turning off my network card (if it does turn off) And yeah, the pc is a HP dv6000(laptop). Could it be the motherboard? My guarantee is expired so. I didn't run into this problem before some weeks ago -- I'm so unlucky. I have 2 other pc's that are connected to my network. One through LAN-cable and the other connects wireless - they both use Win Xp and have no problems at all. Yeah, this one connects by the air too, if you forgot (or if I didn't mention) :)Any suggestions to fix the problem?

Hi, Thank you posting. May I know if the connection works properly in other conditions (besides playing the game Football Manager 2009)? Based on my research, I would like to suggest the following: 1. Please upgrade the NIC driver. (If you want, please let me know the exact brand and model of the NIC, and we may help you check the manufacturers website.) 2. Disable Save Power function of the device 1) Click Start, right click on Computer and choose Properties. 2) Click Device Manager. 3) Navigate to your NIC, right click on it and choose Properties. 4) Choose Power Management tab. 5) Please uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power." 6) Restart the computer and check if it works. 3. If you use dynamic IP Address, please try static IP Address. Please assign IP address, subnet mask, default gateway and the DNS settings referring to your routers settings to see if this works. 4. Please connect the computer to the Internet directly (bypass the router) to check the issue. Please run ipconfig/all on the problematic computer when the issue occurs and post the report and we will perform some further research. Considering that the issue should be related to the hardware, I would also recommend you to contact HP for technical support. Hope this issue can be resolved soon.Thanks.Nicholas Li - MSFT
