Network connection/adapter disappears when disconnected
Network connection/adapter disappears when disconnected, I have gone into the adapter and turned off the power saving mode. This is a new laptop using Windows 7 preinstalled.

Does this provide any assistance?Control panel---classic view-- taskbar and start menu---Notification area tab--System icons. Is the network option unchecked? Otherwise, check it and apply. John

Hi,You can try John's suggestions first. If the issue persists, I suggest you upgrade the NIC driver to latest one for a test. Then, please click Start menu and type "ncpa.cpl" (without quoation mark) in Open box, and press Enter. Does the "Local Area Connection" icon list in the window? Thanks,Novak

Hello, I been having the same trouble.. my network adapter (Ethernet controller) is working fine every time i start my laptop but if i disconnect the cable for longer than a second windows stops detecting the adapter, i.e., it does not appear on the list of network adapters in device manager. i tried ipconfig and it shows the state as media disconnected. i can assure that my hardware is perfect as i have no troubles with the network adapter when i am using ubuntu on this laptop. Please i am desperate for a solution. Thanks in advance, Saurav Singhi email: saurav.singhi@gmail.com
