Network card drivers
Computer works fine with XP Pro. W7 can't find drivers for network card. Info from XP says Intel 21143 10/100 Fast ethernet and driver in XP is dc21x4.sys. Intel says no driver available as XP installs correct driver. Where can I find this driver?

Hi, Looks like a very old network driver. Can you try contacting your hardware manufacturer and see if they have a downloadable driver for WinXP or Vista? If yes, install the driver using compatibility mode: 1. Right click on the executable (setup file to install the driver) and select Properties 2. Compatibility tab -> "Run this program in..." 3. Select Windows XP 4. Click OK and run the setup/executable.Jabez Gan [MVP] - http://www.msblog.org

Intel says there are no new drivers available as XP installs correct driver. Where on Microsoft can I find this driver to download and TRY to install in compatability mode??? XP says in device manager that the driver is dc21x4.sys. Have searched Microsoft and can not find.!!!

Well,
I had more or less the same problem with a 10/100 "old" USRobotics NIC adapter (to be hostest, I could not believe W7 was not able to recognize it...) and I simply used WinXP drivers. It's now working... however, I have no performance special requirements or issues so, dunno if could be better!

Griggsbob, I'm a bit confused by what you mean here: "Intel says there are no new drivers available as XP installs correct driver." Have you tried simply pulling the dc21x4.sys file from your Windows XP install and installing the card under Windows 7 using that driver?-Alex

Solved by installing new network card with up to date drivers. Thanks for suggestions.
