Network animation gone for good?
The network icon in the notificaiton area lights up once or twice in Vista SE. Oops! In Windows 7.Is there any way to implement the network icon that serves any visible purpose? Maybethe way it worked in XP wasn't that bad?Now this icon can be compared only to a present from your beloved mother-in-law. Here it is butno practical use. Love it or hide it.

I agree! I asked for the animation OPTION to be made available through several chanels during the 7 Beta but never received a response. I don't understand the "pitch fork" icon and I really want the ability to enable animation (unless MS can tell me the very good reason for not having it).I have noticed many threads in many forums/blogs but found no meaningful responses. If someone from Microsoft would reply, it would be appreciated.________________________ Ian Matthews www.commodore.ca

Count myvote too!I have posted many times about thisparticular thing going back to Beta 2 for Vista. What XP had goes backall the way to Windows 95, butI have it to be very functional as it gave you an immediate idea of what your computer was doing on the network. The random flashes under Vista I found to be quite useless. With no lights under Windows 7, why bother?
