Network and internet keeps dropping
I have: A Realtek 8168D/8111D NIC A MA74GM-S2H Mobo and I am running Windows 7 (64Bit). Linksys WAG354G Router The problem I am currently suffering from is that my internet connection keeps dropping. If I disable and then enable my network connection it connects me back up. This seems to happen randomly but there appears to be a pattern whereby it is more frequent if I am downloading. I have tried numerous solutions listed below. Disabled IPV6 Change the NIC power settings to not allow the computer to switch off the device. Changed the speed and duplex settings to 100mb full duplex I have installed numerous drivers and tested them all to no avail. I have specified my DNS Suffix I have tried different routers. I have tried different network cables. I have a friend on the same network using the same router on XP (virtually the same PC build too) that does not suffer from this problem. I am stuck as what to do now and I think I have tried most things (if not all !) that I can find on these forums and others. Help!

Hi Alex, thank you for posting here. As you have tried many methods but failed, I suggest you to try these tests below: 1 Disconnect the router(just access internet with cable). 2 Login with Safe Mode with Connection and use administrator account. 3 Update your Network adapters or reinstall the network card. 4 Use Windows XP Mode to see if the same issue appears: Install and use Windows XP Mode in Windows 7 Furthermore, please make sure all hardware and driver on your PC is compatible with Windows 7, you can check it on Windows 7 Compatibility Center Hope it helps.
