Hi, I am using 3Com 3C905C-TX in Vista. It got no problem. THe Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor said that since Vista don't have the 3Com driver build-in. What you need to do is manually download the XP driver from 3Com website of your NIC and install the driver after Vista install. It will make your 3Com NIC work in Vista. Thx!

Go to www.3Com.com and download the drivers for the 3C905B-TX card. You only need the first disk, 3C90x1.exe http://www.3com.com/products/en_US/result.jsp?selected=5&sort=effdt&sku=3C905B-TX&order=desc Run the exe to expand it and put all of the extracted files on a floppy, stick the floppy in your PC, right-click on Computer and select manage -> Device Manager and double-click the unknown ethernet device. I forget the terminology in that location, but Install/Reinstall/Update or whatever to load a driver. Force the OS to include the floppy drive in its driver search. It will churn for a long time, and eventually install one of the drivers, presumably the XP version. Bingo, you now have network connectivity.

Hi all I used yesterday to install Windows Vista Enterprise Edition and I encountered the same problem. It was solved by following this process 1. Downloading the 3c90x1.exe file that is available on the 3Com site (http://support.3com.com/infodeli/tools/nic/3c905c.htm) 2. Extracting the 3c90x1.exe file in a folder named, for sample, DISK1. 3. Perform anUpdate of the driver in the device manager. 4. When you will be asked to specify where is the driver, browse to the folder you just created (DISK1). 5. Even if it is not specified that itis compatible forVista, it work. Regards MehdiH
