Network access between Win XP and Win Vista RC1 5600
Can anyone assist me. I am trying to access the Vista shared folders from my XP pro notebook. I can see the computer name from my notebook but cannot access it either because I get a message"don't have permission" or "login disabled". But I can see and access all the shared foldersof my notebook on the vista. But not the other way around. Please help. Much Appreciated James

It's very simple . Go to Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center, check if your network installed is Home or Public network to change privileges of network access resources, however you can change those privileges by changing options in Sharing and Discovery by turning on File Sharing or Media Sharing (regarding your customizations). And try it, it would work good. Good luck

Thanks for the reply. I have decided to take the easy route byReinstalling Windows Vista on my notebook and match the workgroup to be the same as the System with Windows Vista already on. and it works perfect. Thanks for the help. James
