Network Security Mismatch w/Win7 & Netgear Router
We have an ASUS Laptop that we have been using over a year now with our wireless router just fine. We recently moved nearby and had our cable reinstalled. Our Laptop worked well for a few days, but now we just get the Network Sec MisM message to appear. I am using my work laptop (winXP) on the network just fine. It also appears that the ASUS is recognizing the network, but will not connect. I have went in to the properties and checked all of the settings (WPA2-Personal/AES) and typed in the security key (ensured correct). I still cannot reach connectivity. I have read through the forums and tried everything that I could. I even tried updating my device driver with no fix. I went and bought a new wireless device(Belkin), but want to explore all of my options before opening the package. I don't understand how the computer recognizes the router, but will not connect even though it did a few times when we first hooked it up at our new house. I am having my wife use my work computer every evening to complete her on-line college courses, but am traveling soon. Need fix ASAP. If this is just Win7 issue, would it be in best interest to remove and go back to XP?? I am wore out with trying to solve. Thanks for listening to me and helping me if possible. Dereck

I assume you're having a problem with wireless connection? Try changing the wireless channel in the router. There was a post here recently where the OP could not get a wireless connection with Win 7. He was trying different things and changed the channel, I think it was to #3, and everything started working fine. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
