Network Printer
Recently I upgraded my XP desktop to WIN7 and now I can not share a printer on another XP machine. Any help would be highly appreciated. I have printkeys of the setup and firewall. Not sure how I can upload it.Please note thwat I have zonE Alarm firewall and I did opned up UDP/TCP ports but still cant connect to the printer, I can see it but can't connect in order to print.

First please confirm if we can access the Windows XP system though network. If not, we will need to check the settings on Windows XP system and consider it is a network sharing issue. If we can access Windows XP system, remove the printer on Windows 7 system, reboot and re-add it. Try to select Add a Printer --- Add a network, wireless or Bluetooth printer --- The printer that I want isn't listed --- Select a shared printer by name. Input \\computername\printername to see if it can be added.

I think we can access any windown machine from WIN7 desktop, that what is my understanding, I am able to see win xp desktop as well as printer from my win7 machine network. So \\XPComputername can help as access shared files on Windows XP system, correct?The "Access is Denied" error is still looks like a permission issue, so please let me know if the "Simple File Sharing" on Windows XP is enabled or not.Note: If we cannot access shared files, please still provide a screenshot of the error. Thank you for your effort on the issue.
