Network Location Awarness Service on Vista
I have been viewing several forums trying to find an anwser to my Vista problem. Network Location Awarness service will not start and the only error message is the generic error 3221226008. What is not wrong: The system does not have malware, trojan viruses nor does It need to any DLL(s) replaced. There is no issues with Group Policy. As a remedey I found posted on another site, they added the local service and Network service in the administrator group to fix the problem. adding those local accounts worked for me as well, however you mine as well put "Everyone" in the administrator group because this is a bad idea. I've narrowed a little further, I removed the local accounts from the admin group and added Network service to the HLKM System permissions with full control. Still not where I want to be, but I am positive with these actions this is a permissions issues with the local network service account. My question: Has anyone else come across this issue? Which keys does the local Network Service need permissions to inorder to start the Network Location Awarness Service?
