Network Firewall false negative
Hi all, I'm having kind of a problem with the Action Center reporting the Windows Firewall as being off. When I open the Windows Firewall with advanced Security, it shows me all profiles green (i.e. Windows Firewall is on). Still, I keep on getting the notification "Windows firewall is trned off and is currently being managed by your system administrator". The color of the notification is orange, not red. I'm currently working with Network Access Protection, so such a false negative locks me out of the network, no matter if the FW actually works or not. Any Idea? Thank you, Pierre

1. Any trace in Event logs and FW loghs? 2. Hope that AV/AM is up and running. 3. Are there any applications that may interfere with local FW? Regards Milos

Hi Milos, I can't find any entry in the logs. The firewall itself is totally ok, everything's green and so on, as it should be. The only problme that I have is that the Action Center sees it "off". NAP bases its healthcheck on the Action Center, so my client is locked out of the network, even though it is healthy. I only have McAfee AV&AS running on the client, no other firewall or security software whatsoever. The security warning is orange/yellow and would eventually turn red if I stop the Firewall Service ^^. Thank you for your answer. Pierre

Hi Juke, and thank you for your answer. I think we'll have to go through all the GPO wich are applied in the company in order to solve this problem. Pierre
