Network Error 0x80070035 - Win7 64 accessing its OWN shares
I just set up a new Win 7 64 bit system to replace my old desktop. I've been running Win 7 32 for quite a while and have never had trouble with networking per se, until now. I've set up the sharing, etc. the way I usually do. Network Discovery, file sharing, etc. are all turned on with no password. All PCs are part of the same workgroup. I have several shares on this new machine that my other computers can access just fine. However, the local PC cannot access its own shares. I get the 0x80070035 error. Bizarre. As I said, I have set up sharing on all these machines more than once. It always works fine. Even accessing its own shares. But not this one. And the only difference I can spot is that this machine is 64bit, which I wouldn't think would have any bearing on this. I have specific reasons for the local PC to be able to access its own shares. I have no workaround. It has to be able to do this or some of my software will not function properly. I have to be able to map drives locally and also set up paths to folders that other computers will use. So, they have to be network paths, not local paths. And the software is aware that the path is not available locally. I can't fool it. Can anyone get me pointed in the right direction on this? Thanks! Matt

Hi, Did this issue only occur to its own network shares? What is the result when the Windows 7 64 bit access other computer network shares? According to your description, you have checked the related settings. In this situation, I would like to suggest you checking the Event log to see if there is any useful information. Meanwhile, try to disable the firewall and your anti-virus program to check the result. Hope it helps.
