Network Copying Fails to Windows Mchine
Does the Windows 7 machine have the network connection temporarily go into a 'unplugged' state and then recycle? I recently had this happening to me copying films from a Linux server... It all got better when I removed the QOS rules from my router.

Havent actually had the network connection open whist doing the data transfer. We have done some more testing and googling. I found several people with a similar sort of problem as mine and they have said that turning off IPv6 has helped, but not for us. We have also learnt that the data transfer from local machine to the server will go fine, its just server to local that has the problems. I've also unticked the QoS in network connections and that has had no impact. I havent done the QoS in the router YET, purely because the transmission isnt going through the router. We're starting to think that there is a potential for a Windows Update for this to have caused the problem. Reason i say this is because the server and network have been performing perfectly for the last 2+ years and no updates to the server have been applied. We make use of a Kerio Mail server and a Windows update cased SQL problems which stopped everybody's outlook from working. Kerio released a 'counter-patch' to address this. And we are thinking that something in a similar mannor could have happened. Any ideas?

Hi all, Got a very strange problem here. And this is a problem that has developed itself somewhere, somehow. The actual problem is when a file copy is initiated over the network, for example for 120GB, it will - guaranteed fail. It will fall-over at a random file and ask if you want to try again. From hitting yes - try again, the copy will carry on and complete. But we cannot be sure on the integrity of the data/file that it stopped at. This is because these are all 3D frames for the user and if corrupt it will be near impossible to find which one has changed/gone out of sync. Also, from what has been reported, the files he is dealing with are all .tif. We have a 3x Mac OS X Servers (please dont use the Mac as an excuse) which are all on the same OS - 10.5. One for RAID, FileMaker and Email. All clients connect to the RAID, obviously. And one of our designers who deals in massive files and folders structures all the time has now said that his Windows 7 64bit Pro HP Z800 machine is having issues copying files to his machine locally, from the server. This process has been replicated on several Windows 7 machines and the same problem keeps happening. However, this has also been tried on several iMacs on different OS and they copy absolutely fine. The reason I stated we have several Mac servers is because the same copy process has been setup and replicated on different machines. Thus, eliminating the possibility of a dodgy RAID server. Any ideas guys? Would be much appreciated :) Thanks
