Network Connection but no Internet Access; using Apple Airport Express
I know this question is similar to other posts, but reading through the blogs, I cannot resolve my issue... I operate Windows 7 on my HP TouchSmart. My wireless internet is operated through an Apple Airport Express. I receive network connectivity through an Ethernet connection that is installed in the building where I live. Not sure how the connectivity is run into each unit of the condominium. One Ethernet cord is connected to my computer, another to the Airport Express. I have wireless access in my condo. My wireless devices (iPap, iPhone, iPod-Touch) and those which are run off the wireless connection (Apple TV) work fine. My computer is able to send a signal to the wireless devices (I am able to run airtunes via itunes on my computer), but I am not able to access the internet on my computer. If I disable or bridge (I don’t really understand “bridging”) the Ethernet and wireless connection, I can access the internet from my computer, but cannot connect my computer to wireless devices (I cannot access airplay/airtunes). Solutions for keeping my condo wireless, my computer wired, but transmitting from my computer to the wireless system while accessing the internet? Please, if you can, offer suggestutions or solutions in terms a 10 year old (or 80 year old) would understand.

You would be much better off if you can find someone who can look at your setup as the description is very confusing and I don't know anything about Apple's Airport Express. My home network has 3 desktop computers connected via ethernet to a wireless router and I have 2 notebooks that connect to the router wirelessly. All 5 computers; plus a Wii, a DVD player, & a satellite DVR connected to the router via ethernet; have internet access without any problem. Have you gone to the Apple forums and asked about the Airport Express? I would think there is a way to setup everything so it works the way you want. I don't think you have a Windows 7 problem. I don't know of anything you can do in Windows 7 to allevaite the problem. I think you have a local hardware configuration problem. There's bound to be someone iin the neighborhood that knows soemthing about somputers and home networking. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. Hi JNWMiami, I'm a little confused about your question. What do you mean"my computer wired, but transmitting form my computer to the wireless system while accessing the internet"? It seems you want the computer also use the Apple Airport Express wireless connection, correct? According to this Apple Airport Express requirement:http://www.apple.com/airportexpress/specs.html for PC users, it supports Windows XP or Windows Vista, Windows 7 is not included. I recommend you contact the Apple support for this question. Regards, Miya Please note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice.
