Network Audit of OS's
I need to provide some sample Windows 7 product keys to Microsoft, so instead of going and looking on the underside of everyones laptops, is there a way i can run something over the network (free if possible) that will give me the licence keys? Thanks!

Hello Jagjag. One bit of advise I can give is for example you are using HP or Dell desktops... They both have "workstation" audit tools, you could look at running those and providing a report of your systems, providing they are all from the same manufacture. You could try writitng your own WMI query and running it: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa394587(v=vs.85).aspx Otherwise, in the freeware arena: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/productkeysactivation/tp/topkeyfinder.htm Or the pay a little: http://recover-keys.com/ I have not used these products so I cannot attest to thier functionality. On the other hand, it may not hurt to get the old legwork done to manually collec the key information at the same time you check the system support tags and so forth for your basic aasset auditing. From a management standpoint of your systems, having a good information base of your platforms will aid you in the future a great deal.
