Network Adapter set at 10M
On my new HP Pavilion desktop running Win 7 64, the network adapter is stuck on 10M. When I first noticed the network was slow I manually changed the speed to 100M Full Duplex. This worked for a while until I had to re-boot my router. The adapter is not stuck on 10M and nothing I've done changes this. I have set the speed manually, set it to auto, re-booted the PC, re-booted the router, tried to update the driver (it says it's up to date), re-installed the apdapter etc. and nothing works. Router is a Linksys WRT54G and the network adapter is a Realtek RLL 8105E. I cannot find any updated drivers on the HP site, Linksys site or the Realtek site for anything remotely connected to the network adapter. I know the router is good and the cable is good - my old PC used exactly the same port and cable and auto-switched to 100M with no problem (old Compaq box running XP) Any thoughts ?

Hi, Since you changed the speed and duplex manually, I suspect that some third party software changed the value. Please perform a Clean Boot to check the issue. And use 50-50 method to find out the root cause: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: Clean Boot is a step of troubleshooting, we can go back to normal by running MSCONIFG.
