Network Adapter problem in Windows 7
Hi, I cannot get my internet wired network connection to work on my system. When I use the Troubleshoot Option from the tasbar, I get the following result: " Install a driver for your network adapter - Windows did not detect a properly installed network adater. If you have a network adapter, you will need to re-install the driver" When I go to the Device Manager, there is nothing under Network Adapters. Behind my computer, there is a lots of light activity meaning the card and Internet appear to be active. My motherboard is a Biostar TF570 SLI. I went on their site and downloaded their Ethernet X64 driver and installed it. No success. Did lots of research on your site and internet but all the solutions I found are based on the user having something showing in the Network Adapters in the Device Manager. Any help appreciated... Thanks, Mike.

Did it work before? Is this a network card or an integrated network adapter (built onto the motherboard)? Are you running the 64-bit version of Windows 7?-B- http://www.officeforlawyers.com Author: The Lawyer's Guide to Microsoft Outlook

Hi Ben, Yes it did work before. I bought the computer used and the previous owner had it working. I did a fresh W7 OS (64 bit) reinstall with a fresh copy I purchased. I am not at the computer right now and I am not sure if the card is integrated or not. Can this be seen by looking at the back of the computer or will I need to open the case? Thanks for your time, Mike.

Hi again, I have looked behind the computer and the network adapter plug in the motherboard. Thanks, Mike.

Hi Mike, I also checked the driver downloading pages of BIOSTAR TF570 SLI and I just found there is no driver for Windows 7 for both the following models: TF570 SLI Ver. 5.x TF570 SLI A2+ Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Please try the NIC driver which is for previous versions of Windows with compatibility mode and see how it works; meanwhile, please let us know the brand and model of the NIC. Thanks.
