Network: Limited Access

First let me discribe my problem,

I recently updated my network because my router had issues staying connected and would constantly need reseting. I upgraded my router to a Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900. Afterwards the problem shifted I would be connected to the network and my current connections (Pandora, Grooveshark, VOIP, Googlehangouts, Online games, Online chat programs, facebook chats/games would continue to work however, I could load a new site or start any other online connection. Restarting my machine fixs the issue temporarly. The problem happens on both hardwire and wifi on my computer as well as the other windows 8 machine on the network. However, it does not happen on any of the 5 different windows 7 machines. It tends to happen 1-3 times daily.

The things I have tried;

  • Setting IP settings rather than automatic
  • Running following commands in cmd as admin
  • netsh winsock reset
    netsh winsock reset catalog
    netsh interface ip reset resetlog.txt
    netsh interface reset all
    netsh firewall reset
  • Updating ethernet and wireless devices drivers
  • Disabling Windows Firewall
  • Additional commands in cmd
  •  /ipconfig release
  • /ipconfig renew
  • Updating routers frimware
  • Unchecked Allow computer to turn off this device to save power
  • Unchecked Automatic detect settings in Internet options

I am willing to try just about anything but this seems to only affect the windows 8 computers.

Thank you for your time.

Hi,

Please try to disable fast startup in Windows 8:

How to Turn "Fast Startup" On or Off for a Hybrid Boot in Windows 8 and 8.1

http://www.eightforums.com/tutorials/6320-fast-startup-turn-off-windows-8-a.html

If we can get this issue fixed, I suppose that the issue can be caused by failing to load network adapter driver:

Let's configure following settings to disable power saver on your network adapter:

  1.        Open Network and Sharing Center.
  2.        Click the Change adapter settings link in the upper left of the navigation pane.
  3.        Right click the network connection you want to enable/disable power management support on and click Properties .
  4.        Click Configure .
  5.        On the Power Management tab, clear the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power check box.

Hope this could be helpful.
