Netscreen Remote VPN Software
I am using Netscreen Remote SafeNet SoftRemote 10.3.5(Build 6) VPN client. I am unable to connect to my network, and I am also unable to view the connection log. When I try to open the connection log I receive this error message "an error occurred while trying to bind the socket". Is anyone else experiencing the error, or have an idea how to fix it?

I don't get the same errors, but I can't connect to out network using Netscreen. The WatchGuard branded Softremote I usually use, won't even install.

I have problems with installing Netscreen Remote client 10.0 in vista, after installing and reboot, it only crashes and directly reboots again, could someone help me to get a newer versionfor example the version you mentionn, koroegg?

I have the same issue. I spoke with Juniper support and they will not have a beta VPN client for vista ready for a few months. Its really too bad because I choose to test vista before the rest of the company and now I cannot get VPN access so I have have 2 laptops.

Set up a Virtual PC running Windows XP using VPC 2007 and then install the VPN client in the virtual XP machine. I have tested this configuration as a workaround, and it works fine - much easier then hauling around two laptops.

Absolutely, this is a great workaround. Meanwhile, I have been attempting to force an install of the Netscreen Remote VPN Client 10.3.3 (Build 4) into Vista. It seems that the native IKE and AuthIP IPsec Keyring Modules conflict with what the Netscreen software is attempting to install. Essentially, it would appear as though Juniper's future client may need to be compatible with native Vista modules. Hence the long delay...

I read this and decided this might help install a Softremote VPN to our Watchguard firewall. I downloaded and installed Virtual PC 2007, but doInow have to buy an XP license to be able to run a Virtual PC session on my Vista PC? This is hard to beleive.

I agree! This is almost a horror movie. I even have an OM licence, but I cannot use it even though the virtual XP is running on the same machine I bought with the OM licence. This means I will have to reinstall XP every month just to be able to make a VPN connection. Or to buy an new full XP licence - wow - for the product it isgonna disapear from the market - clap, clap...
