NetBIOS/NetBT kills my kernel!
Hi!I'm using Windows XP Professional (OEM) - Service Pack 3. SP3 was setup by an offline install.Problem: My computer randomly got frozen, no matter what tasks were running. By Windows Event Log I figured out that probablyNetBT service made my system crash when it was trying to create a connection.Deleting NetBT driver, removing NetBT service from registry, disabling NetBIOS service and disabling all networks on Windows seems to solve the problem, but for now there is no network on windows, so now I'm using Linux network which works perfectly. The point is: I didn't need to be online to see the system crash, it just happened when I was offline too. I don't know if it happened because of PostgreSQL 8.4.x server I'm running but someone should let microsoft know that NetBIOS/NetBT service is unreliable, unstable and dangerous (system crash caused me data loss!).If someone has any idea how to make my Windows network functional again without system crash then thank you in advance, but I was happier if there was a security update completely replacing the old NetBIOS/NetBT service to make it safer.Anyway, I can stay alive without Windows network using Linux instead, but if anyone has the same problem then join the club.Best regards.1 person needs an answerI do too
