Need to delete built-in administrative account.
Original title: ProfileI have an adminstrator profile that is on my computer that I did not koow was on the computer because it is used. I have no one of going back to the person that I purchased the computer because I purchased it from amazon. I know that the only way to delete adminstrative profiles is for someone else to connect to my computer to delete it. Can you help? Actually, the only reason I found out it was there was I booted the computer in safe mode, and then it showed up. The weird thing is that the version of Xp I purchased is only version I use. So I do not understand how that is possible. If I had a close friend I would ask for help but at present I do not know anyone that is able to remote assist

The "administrator" and "guest" accounts are built-in and can't be deleted. All Windows installations have one. As you have discovered, it isn't visible unless you boot to Safe Mode. The default password is blank for the administrator account (click on it and hit <enter> when prompted for password). If you are worried about someone gaining access to your computer using this account, then simply change the password. This account can let you gain recovery control of your computer should you not be able to use your login.HTH, JW

Hi,The administrator account you are viewing in safe mode is a built-inaccount which gets created when the operating system is installed. You can only access the built-in account from safe mode. We usually don’t recommend using the built-in administrator account. This administrative account is used to diagnose user profile corruption issue or similar scenarios where we can use the built-in administrator account to troubleshoot the problem.Hope the information helps. Please post back and let us know.RegardsDebleena SMicrosoft Answers Support EngineerVisit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.
