Do you know how to change a computer that has been switched to automatic proxy instead of a manual proxy it is greyed out and I can not change I have a Dell would I call them or just crah my computer to go back to original state I have 2 compters Window 7 and Window Vista

Hi, The proxy server is grey out because you don’t choose the option of “Use a proxy server for your LAN” You can follow these steps to switch automatic proxy to manual proxy: 1) Click “Start” 2) Input “configure proxy server ” in Search box and press Enter 3) Click “LAN settings” 4) You can configure proxy server manually when choose “Use a proxy server for your LAN” If the issue persists, I suggest to reset IE: 1) Open Internet Explorer. 2) Click Tools--- Internet Options. 3) On the Security tab, click Default level button for each icon in the Select a zone to view or change security settings. 4) Click to Programs tab, and then click the Make default button if it is not grayed out. 5) Click to Advanced tab, click Restore advanced settings button in the Settings area. 6) Click the Reset button in the Reset Internet Explorer settings area and Click OK. 7) Click Apply, and then click OK.
