Need help to connect to Verizon DSL with Vista
Bought new HP with Vista. Connected to Verizon and was okay for about a week. Then it stopped connecting. I thought maybe the cable was broken but had that tested. Connected laptop with XP and that works fine. New computer just gathering dust because it will not connectto Verizon DSL. Tried wireless, but it keeps stopping and has limited connection. Now that will not connect. How can I get it to connect to Verizon. Unfortunately I cannot download anything because it won't connect. HELP! Has anyone tried VMware Workstation 6 to run XP? Hi, Thank you for the post. Before we go further, I would like to confirm the following items with you: 1. Do you access the Internet via dial-up by using the Verizon DSL product? 2. How does the Windows Vista computer get IP address? Is it a static or dynamic (assigned by DHCP server) IP address? 3. If the IP address is assigned by DHCP Server, can the Windows Vista computer get the IP address now? 4. Can the Windows Vista computer ping the Verizon DSL product? I look forward to your reply.
