C:\Users\Uddhab>Cipher.exe Listing C:\Users\Uddhab\ New files added to this directory will not be encrypted. On my Windows XP SP3, typing cipher.exe /? at the command prompt gives me some good information. To decrypt only sub-folders inside the C:\Users\Uddhab folder, the command at the prompt should be: C:\Users\Uddhab>Cipher.exe /d To decrypt the Documents folder as well as sub-folders in the Documents folder- C:\Users\Uddhab>Cipher.exe /d /s:Documents This will mark the Documents folder as unencrypted so any file or folder you copy will now be unencrypted. You will still manually need to decrypt the already encrypted files inside Documents folder (select all the encrypted files, right-click > Properties > Advanced > Uncheck 'Encrypt contents to secure data' > OK).
