Need help accessing the Group Policy Manager on the Home Addition for XP.
I am getting the following error when I try to access the Task Manager "Task Manager has been disabled by your administrator". I had a virus once and I think it turned off my access to the Task Manager and I am not able to get to it to turn on the access. I searched the support and it told me to access MMC and select the "group policy editor" from a snap-in. However, when I looked through the available snap-ins, I didn't see the one they told me to select. Can any help me learn how to get access to the Task Manager? Thank you for the assistance.1 person needs an answerI do too

Hello cebert51 Group Policy Editor is not included in XP Home. I think you can download it, but try first to fix the Task Manager problem. It would be the virus which put restrictions in the registry. Try running Malwarebytes and see if it fixes it..

Windows XP Home Edition doesn't have the "group policy editor". To fix the problem, use one of the first three methods shown on the Task Manager page of Microsoft MVP Ramesh Srinivasan's site .
