NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller wont keep internet connected
Ever since I installed the 64bit Windows 7, I keep losing internet access. It will be downloading at high speed just fine, and then, I will use the browser, or sometimes just be using the PC, and it will lose the access. I get the yellow warning light. I tell it to troubleshoot the problem, and it will end up resetting the network controller to solve the issue. Then when I stress it again a little later, it dies again (It died because Windows Media Center was searching the hard drives for media files, for example). I was running Window Vista Premium 64bit, previously, without it ever doing this. My CPU is an AMD 64 dual core 4400+ running at 2.30GHZ, on an ASUS M2N-E Motherboard, with 2gig DDR800 memory. The processors are Nvidia nForce 570 ULtra media communications processors with Gigabit LAN controller. I have mutlple hard drives installed, both sata and ide, with heavy duty power supply. Like I said, never had this trouble with XP, or Vista. Is this a driver issue? Is there a problem with Nvidia network drivers under Windows 7? I Hope someone has a solution. I am sick of it already!

Hi there, I'm having the same problem. I also upgraded from Vista x64 to Win 7 RC1. There's a "solution" posted here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/w7itpronetworking/thread/f0750922-b110-4e06-9e82-d77970c31410 , but that didn't work for me. Don't know if you tried it yet. Maybe it works for you.

That didn't work for me. The string it told me to find doesn't exist in my registry.

Hey.. Yep the same for me, but mine was on 0 changed it to 1, but did not do the trick. I might have fixed mine, but I'm not 100% sure yet since I have to test some more. As I started before I upgraded from Vista Ultimate to Rc1, but I had a few VPN programs installed on Vista. I uninstalled all the VPN programs and what I did it to go to My Devices in Control Panel and right clicked on them and said Unistall. Did this for both my NICs. I restarted my pc and then Win7 found the hardware and installed the drivers. Since then I haven't had any NIC just die on me. However, I need to test more to see if it really fixed it or maybe I'm just lucky that it didn't die yet. So far it's been +-45 mins with no problems. 40mins of that was during Online gaming where I get the most problems. Will keep you posted.

What do you mean by "uninstalling NICs"?

Uninstall nVIDIA Forceware Network Access Manager and restart (maybe twice) and I'm pretty sure you won't have that problem anymore.

i was running asus l1n64-sli ws, this mobo has nforce 680i, i upgraded from vistax64 to the 7x64, networking became unusable, i installed nforce 67.x.x.x drivers it all started working good, never dropped my connection after that, however my new Mobo arrived, same board, i went back in clean install MSW7x86 and now no drivers at all out there work with the onboard ethernet controllers, microsoft installs a driver but there is not access to the router, the newworking adapters both of them are not found, i tried everything, every driver every solution, lets face it, microsoft has dropped the ball here saying there are drivers when in fact there are none to make this nforce work ethernet work properly, ok after 3 days of no connectivity i finally went to best buy and bought this linksys LNE100tx for $19 and put it in my one pci slot, microsoft installed drivers and it has worked flawlessly ever since LNE100TX a cheap workaround until MS decides to get around to work on the most common motherboards out there the asus! Give me a break, if anyone makes this nforce 680i work please email me at markspagnolo@gmail.com, TIA

I put that on a few hours ago and I haven't had this problem since, hopefully it stays that way /cross fingers.

I have not tried the above solution. But if you use Nvidia's 15.25 VISTA x64 driver for your onboard NIC it will work flawlessly. I had installed the latest Nforce driver pack and kept losing my connection whenever there was any net traffic and it would seem to lose my default gateway somehow. Anyways i found out that using the 15.25 Vista x64 network driver solves this issue completely. I only uninstalled the 15.51 NIC driver via device manager and then pointed it to the unpacked 15.25 forceware net drivers and reinstalled my NIC's. No more internet connection issues, no issues what so ever. One day when i get around to reinstalling the current release of Nforce drivers again, I will give the above solution a try. But i don't see myself updating my network drivers from the vista ones since everything works...why break something that works. My chipset is Nforce 590SLi - AMD

I had a similar problem, but not the same -- whenever I tried to power on the PC, I would have no access to the internet (I would see a yellow exclamation mark on my icon tray), even though the other PCs/Laptop connected to my Netgear router have internet access. Then I went to the Device Manager and disabled the NIC (got a warning, which I ignored it!) and enabled it right away. Viola! the internet connection was right there and I was good to go!! This is only a Band-Aid, but not a solution. Hey, if it works, it works!!!

I get the yellow warning light in itself, i trying different drivers, but nothing helps, a laptop HP Pavilion DV6647EN (factory preinstalled Vista). Then i reinstall Windows 7 32-bit and get the yellow warning again, trying different drivers, but nothing, an yellow icon and the error code 10. The most surprising that under 'Linux Live CD' an adapter is working! Then i decided to install Windows 7 64-bit and get the same yellow warning, but now i go to HP support site, downloaded NVIDIA nForce Chipset Driver for Vista 64-bit and it working now!!! Although Chipset driver for Vista 32-bit on Windows 7 32-bit doesn't help me. Hope, my way helps anybody.
