NFS not working on Windows 7
Hi all,So, on Vista I've been using Hanewin NFS server to mount shares in order to stream to a Popcorn Hour NMT. Hanewin is generally the NFS server of choice from what I can tell, so it's pretty widely used. After installing Windows 7 a week or so ago, I got around to adding Hanewin and set it up exactly how I have it on Vista, but it doesn't seem to want to work at all under Windows 7. It appears to be running (and the NFS Server is listed as 'started' under services.msc), but no NFS clients (including the Popcorn Hour) can view the mounts.Has anyone else come across this and found a solution? I did try using nfsAxe as an alternative, but that tends to just crash as soon as you open it :) I can only assume that NFS isn't quite operational in Windows 7 as yet. (I did of course try all the usual mini fixes, such as running as admin and setting compatibility on the programs). Thanks!Simon

Did you try UNIX services for Windows?

Windows 7, as it stands right now is not cooked at all especially when it comes to networking.Several people are having issues with NFS, Exchange Logins, etc... While MS has acknowledged these are known issues, what you should do is click on the Send Feedback button at the top of pretty much any open window and let MS know about it. When you turn loose this may copies of a beta and work with, what is probably hundreds of thousands of different setups and configurations you will run into issues not thought of by the engineers, or is not high on the priority list for them to fix. Bug it and get some people behind it and I'm sure it will get looked at. //David David Dracoules

I did install UNIX services for Windows, but it didn't seem to help ;)Thanks David. I have already submitted a bug report about it, so the issue is out there, I guess I just wanted some validation that it's not just me who can't get it working ;)
