NAS Share Not accesible from Windows 8 Machines

Hi,

We have Nas Box connected with Application.

The Application Gets connected when users Connects from Windows 7 machines.

While the same is not working for Users who connect from Windows 8 machines

We are getting the error message as "Support Directory \\****\shared$\support does not exist"

This Happens for Users who logged on Windows 8 (we recently Migrated Few Users machines from Win 7 to 8)

Is something need to be tweaked on Windows Box.

Regards,

Pradeep

Hi prraaddeep,

As far as I am concerned, Windows 7 use the SMB2 to access the share and Windows 8 use the SMB 3.0 to access the share. We could refer to the following link to disable SMB3.0 to have a check.
How to enable and disable SMBv1, SMBv2, and SMBv3 in Windows Vista, Windows Server 2008, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012

Windows Server 2012: Which version of the SMB protocol (SMB 1.0, SMB 2.0, SMB 2.1 or SMB 3.0) are you using on your File Server?

Considering the Windows 7 machines will work well, there may be a compatibility issue here.
Considering this issue is related to the third party products and we are not familiar with this products, it is recommended to ask for help from the third party product support.

Best regards
