My windows username is gone..
ok. so i have a dell xps, old model, running xp pro. i usually dont have my monitor connected because i always access the computer through the "remote desktop mobile" program on my touch pro2 handheld. about 3 days ago i stopped being able to logon with this method. i connected my monitor and started my computer normally only to be greeted with a logon screen with the guest account (which should be there) and another account in place of mine, named "TerminalClient". wtf?? i tried my password, didnt work, the guest account had no administrative access, and i have not been able to successfully access the actual admin account. could not add an account through the registry editor because, of course, my guest account is unable to edit the registry. i tried using the secondary logon screen with the ctrl+alt+del workaround but its telling me that my password to my "Administrator" account is incorrect when i never created one. and lastly, the computer always stops responding when i try to login with safe mode! somebody plz put me out of my misery. i use this comp for music production/recording and REFUSE to wipe my hard drive.1 person needs an answerI do too

I would suggest running chkdsk in case your userprofile has some corruption.Beyond that, you need to gain access to the filesystem either by use of a Live CD OS, or by way of Administrator password reset. Unfortunately we are forbidden to offer any further advice in that area.
