My windows keep becoming inactive before I am done using them. It is like they are set up on a 15 sec timer and then they go inactive?

everytime I start up a window, even in outlook, it stays active for a short time and i have to keep clicking on the window to reactivate it. Even when typing in a box.1 person needs an answerI do too
