I have windows XP home on my computer. Starting last night my computer wont shut down from the start menu. The shut down menu will pop up but when I click shut down it restarts the ciomputer instead. I have to shut it down manualy with the power button.

It possible some programs are still resident in memory. Right click the the Taskbar, and click Task ManagerGo to the processes tabFilter by Memory and look for any programs you think might still be open.
