My windows 7 laptop will not take any updates.
You need to repair you office installation first.
And office 2003 i think requires installation media when you patch it.
For example if you have install it from cd on D: drive, then you need to insert the cd in the D: and then try to install the updates.
You can try to udate your office from here.

My windows 7 laptop will not take any updates from windows updates.
The updates are for Microsoft Office 2003 so i tried uninstalling and reinstalling Microsoft office2003 and that gave me errors when re-installing and telling me there were registry issues and i didnt have permission rights to install microsoft office2003.
when i look at update history these updates are a couple months old.
