He asked, "Which versions can I delete without affecting my system? It using too much space in my system.", not if he can keep them all? So can he delete the older versions or not? Do the newer versions cover what the older ones have or does each one work differently?

What framework versions can be deleted, depends upon what programs are running and their requirements. In the article I posted to the OP QUOTE ...... Most of the time, you can use the latest version of the .NET Framework to run applications that were created by using earlier versions of the .NET Framework. The .NET Framework 4 does not automatically roll forward older applications. Older applications require the Framework they target to be installed unless the developer provides a configuration file to redirect the application to run on .NET Framework 4. ....... END QUOTESo if you have applications that require V1 or V2, then they must co-exist etc. I have no way of knowing what applications are installed on the OP's computer. For example:-http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2009/04/20/9557946.aspxMailbag: Do I need still need older versions of the .NET Framework on my system after installing .NET Framework 3.5 SP1?....... some applications that are configured to require a specific version of the .NET Framework, even if later versions of the .NET Framework are installed ........So if you're running a program that requires a specific version then that version must be installed on the system. Please in future, start your own thread rather than hijacking a thread that is approximately 12 months old.Thank you.Kaylene Horne / TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2011.
