My shared documents folder is broken
I recently switched to high speed internet, after that was complete the files in the shared documents folder locked. When I open a folder attributes the read only box is greyed out but when I look at the file attribute boxes of the files in the folder they are all clear. If I attempt to remove the mark in the check box I am told that an error occured "access denied" How do I get control of my shared documents back?1 person needs an answerI do too

Switching Internet Service Providers should have had zero affect on your data files. Did you install something offered by the new ISP? As for the attributes, the read-write attributes are not applicable to folders in Windows XP so that is why you are seeing the behavior you do. You can take ownership of the files but it would be better to find out what is really going on instead.
