My hard completely fills up with hidden files that are 3.5 gig and only named A
The files are all 3,450,448 kb except the last one which is smaller so it can get eery last meg availible. The files are in the boot drive with paths like: C:/Windows/A or C:/Windows/F The names are always A, E, F, G, I, L, N, P, or S. No file extensions (I have them turned on yet nothing) and the creation date is same as when I booted.I have an 80 gig raptor running Vista utimate. When I physically remove the hard drive and erase the files (using another computer) I have 24gig's free (out of the 74gig max).Next time I boot up, they come right back and fill the hard drive completely up. I even filled the space on the hard drie with stuff I can delete so I hae working space on the harddrive. No matter what I do, when I reboot,it fill up with these files, that are impossible to erase no matter your adminster status because they say they are being used by another program. I can't figure out how to find out what the program is that's using it.I'e used all the main application free and pay, no viruses no spyware,no hardrie defect nothing.ANy ideas? Thanks.

Hello Josh, These are not built-in system files and I suspect that they are generated by some third party applications or caused by virus. Update your anti-virus program to the latest version and perform a complete virus scan first. Erase the redundant files through another computer and then start this computer with Windows Safe mode. (In this mode, all the third-party applications would be disabled.) 1. Detach all unnecessary peripheral devices from your computer, such as printers, scanners and removable storage devices. 2. Restart the computer. 3. Keep pressing the F8 key until the Windows Startup menu appears. 4. Choose Safe Mode, and press Enter. 5. Test the issue in Safe Mode to see if the issue still exists. Note: In Safe Mode, your system display and Desktop will look and perform differently than in Normal Mode. This is only temporary. If the issue does not occur in safe mode, lets continue with the following instructions. 1. Click Start, copy and paste "msconfig" (without the quotation marks) in the Start Search box and click Enter. 2. Switch to "Services" tab and then Check "Hide All Microsoft Services". 3.Click Disable All. 4. Switch to the Startup tab and then Click Disable all. 5. Click OK. 6. Click Restart to restart the computer in common mode and test the issue. Feel free to let me know the result! Cheers!
