My copy of Windows 7 Build 7600 states it's not genuine
Hey all,
First, I 'd like to say that Windows 7 has been awesome! Funny thing occurred the other night though. All of the sudden the Windows 7 This copy is not genuine, notice popped up on the lower right side of my monitor. I just bought my
PC in September and completed the Microsoft set up after I received it via TigerDirect/Amazon 29SEP10. Windows 7 came pre-installed and things have been so far so good till now.
Send Help & Thank you :)

Sometimes I have seen popping up such messages out of the blue just after startup in enterprise environment, only to disappear a short time (seconds, minutes) later again. Checking the system properties did not give any indication any more, so it could have
been a timing issue.
On the other side, can you exclude, that somebody installed Windows 7 using the same code as in the key shown? Also, does the key match the key sticking on your computer case (or in the package you may have received from your vendor)?
If not, it would be worth to change the key and reactivate.
Best greetings from (currently) Poland
Olaf

Hi,
If the Windows 7 is preinstalled on the computer, it will have the private product key with the computer. The key should be a sticker affixed on the computer or on the buttom of the laptop. After finding the product key, please use the new product key to
re-activate the Windows 7.
We can click Start button, right click the Computer and choose Properties. On the bottom, please click Change the product key and enter the new key to check the result.
Best Regards,
Simida

I think the Key that is shown above is a generic key! I checked my Windows sticker on the side of my PC and they are different indeed. I attempted to put in my actual key in the Windows activation box from the Microsoft sticker but I get the following
notice: Invalid product key Code 0xC0000022 a process has requested access to an object, but has not been granted access rights. This is the same error I get when I try and run an update from Windows.
I did actually activate the generic key thinking that it was my actual key...
Does this mean I need to buy a new key since it's been over 30 day since I 1st started my PC?
