IT attacked the .exe files and was able to repair those but now i stilll have several other files infected and windows defender did not detect them but when I downloaded Avast freeware it found several on the boot scan results. one was a combustible virus that it cannot repair, delete or quarantine. I ran the normal scan from avant on my windows platform and my comp froze during the process so i was unable to complete the normal scan routine. Also, it will not allow me to go back to my original date of restore or any past dates. What can fix this without having to lose all of my data and take it in. I have tried making recovery disks as well and i get an error stating it could not execute completely. I was using the free version of aVG when the virus came through to me via an email from my cousin on the same network. I am on a laptop as well. Can someone please help?

So, what exactly seems to be the problem? is it you are unable to open .exe files? or what kind of error you are getting?
