My backup stops at 35% on Win 7. The laptop will not let me eject my disc.
This is the second time I have tried a backup. It took hours to get to the 35%. Then it just stops. No promp, nothing. I cannot open the disc to remove.

Depends on which files you are trying to back up. Some of these files are locked in memory and they cannot be unlocked. Don't let windows choose what to backup, you choose what to backup. Don't back up the windows folder or the program files folder. Backup is used to backup only data files: music, documents, pdfs, pictures and so on. You shouldn't backup your computer, it doesn't really help yo to do anything. It is more useful if you do a system image. That can save you from a lot of trouble. The System image along with the system repair disc can recover your computer completely to the date the system image was created. I wouldn't use back up if I would be you. It creates more work for you. Please do not forget to select the best answer if it helps you! The Ultimate computer newbie guide since the discovery of spoon feeding! The Computer Manual dot Com

Is the first backup successful? I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and then try to backup. If the issue persists, please let us know if you can back up to local hard drive properly. If you can, I suggest you refer the article below to fix the DVD burner issue. The CD drive or the DVD drive does not work as expected on a computer that you upgraded to Windows Vista http://support.microsoft.com/kb/929461 Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question.
