My XP pro computer just started taking a while to boot up. Event Viewer gives an Event ID: 7022
My XP pro computer just started taking a while to boot up. I went into Event Viewer and found the following: Event Type: Error Event Source: Service Control Manager Event Category: None Event ID: 7022 Date: 10/22/2009 Time: 2:31:30 PM User: N/A Computer: STAN-107C7C526F Description: The Automatic Updates service hung on starting. I went to services and found that the following are set correctly: I have Automatic Updates set to automatic and it starts I have BIT set to automatic and it starts I have Event Log set to automatic and it starts Later in the list it does show that Automatic update eventually starts. If I disable the above services, then the computer starts up relatively fast. Of course, I will not be able to Update my system when new patches are provided. Any ideas what else could be causing this relatively new problem? What other service settings or should I be focusing on?1 person needs an answerI do too
