My Gateway PC Windows XP service pack 3 will not boot up Windows with the DSL Modom Pluged in ? I had a Linksys Router pluged in & thought it was the router But when I unpuged the Router & hooked the DSL to my PC it did the Same Thing? 1 person needs an answerI do too

I start my PC & it starts ok I put in my Password & Windows XP starts & then Shuts Down with no error But tryes to start Again I turn it off Unplug My DSL Modem & it works Fine I plug in the Modem & I'm Fine?Im on a Network HOME 2 Laptops & an XBOX so thay don't like the intruption.I was told that it could be in my Boot settings ( my PXE Boot to Lan is inabled)could that be the Problem? I'm lost Please can you help?

HiIf you have 2 Laptops & an XBOX, there is No point experimenting with the Modem, you need a Router to support the Network, make sure that it works with a Router.If your DSL works with ID and PW (PPPOE), make sure that the Router's WAN side is keeping the DSL alive and that the computers are Not involved in any PPPOE activities ( http://www.ezlan.net/PPPOE.html ).I do not know why PXE Boot is On, it is of No use for regular LAN, take it out of the Boot process.In addition, scan your HD make sure that there is No Malwares that are trying to connect out.
