My E-mail and Microsoft Forum have the same Password and one changes the other!
I have recently switched E-mail providers. I am using an Hotmail based e-mail under it's corporate name, and had nothing but problems, almost three times per week something new hapens. Three days ago I tried to login to Microsoft Forums. It did not accept my password so I created a new one. Later I tried to download my emails, the Password was not accepted. One hour or more later with help from Tech Support from my e-mail provider,I was able to re-entered my original password which was accepted. Later or the next day I wanted to acces the MSFT Forum but again, the password was rejected. I entered the e-mail password and voila, it opened. I now have my E-mail, MSFT Forums and Windows Live all with the same Password. I am using Office 2007 and Windows XP Pro. I fear this many programs with my one password is very unsafe and fear the worst. I am using Outlook as my e-mail program Can someone help me please here: Shall I switch back to my old e-mail provider? How many E-mail providers out there among the big ones use a Hotmail based e-mail service or Internet service? are they both the same?Thank you very much for your help! Hi HDScala,If you have created Windows Live account using your company’s E-mail address, and use the same live ID for the forums, it will all be the same since the Windows Live ID ties it all together. This is by design. You can create a new Windows Live ID if you wish to keep things separate.Regards,Divya R – Microsoft Support.Visit our Microsoft Answers Feedback Forum and let us know what you think.

Than you Divya R> for your replay and suggestion. I will immediately try to set up a new Windows Live ID and hope it will not change my E-mail password at the same time. Are there E-Mail services providers out there which are not based on Hotmail? Sice signing up I had nothing but problems, ridiculously bad support from my provider not to mention billing problems. I have been a customer of this provider for my home phone for over 40 years, no contracts, no sign up here or else. Now some VP sends me a letter thanking me for signing up and by the way, it will cost me 75.00 if I break the contract. Have they ever heard of the word "Loyalty"! HDScala

Are there E-Mail services providers out there which are not based on Hotmail?Plenty. Both Yahoo and Google offer free e-mail services. Others exist as well.Brian Tillman [MVP-Outlook]--------------------------------https://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/Brian.TillmanIf a reply helps, please vote it as helpful.
