That's my response. Click on it to expand all Control Panel items. Thanks.

Ah, no, that's not what's happening with mine. I click on the Control Panel button in the Start menu and literally nothing happens - no window opens at all. Same with Windows Update.Ali

I'm having the same issue, my control panel opens completely blank, I think I found a way around it though. When I click on "Uninstall or change a program" in my computer,it does take me into that menu. Then if I use the dropdown from the address bar there it allows me to open the other control panel options, its just the main control panel change that appears to be broken.

It looks like the problem is still there. I downloaded Windows 7 x32 on 16th May 2009. The Control Panel appeared for a while but now I can't see it all.

On the off chance try this. Start>Run type regedit to bring up registry editor. Make sure you back up the registry first. To do this click on computer on the left hand pane, then go to File>Export, then choose a filename & save to documents. Navigate to HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-1348924779-4173790449-796229607-1000\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\DisallowCpl Then see if there is anything listed in it,it should only show (default) REG-SZ Value not set. If there is anything listed, delete it. If you click on explorer just above DisallowCpl in the left pane, check in the right pane against DisallowCpl & check the value is 0x00000001 (1) the (1) is the only bit you can change. If it's not (1),right click on it,go to modify & change the value to 1 Then reboot, did the trick for me when Windows Update vanished from Control Panel.
