My Computer Loses Internet and Crashes Frequently
So my computer has been having some problems as of late. It continuously loses it's wireless connection, and after about once or twice of that, it crashes. I have checked the drivers, did an extensive test on the hard drive (it passed) and reset my computer to factory settings. And my power settings are set to NOT turn off the Wireless Adapter. This is becoming a huge problem because sometimes when it crashes and comes back, I lose a lot of my settings. It's a HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC that I bought about 6 months ago. I'm getting desperate, the factory reset helped, made it last a few hours before it would crash, but that slow shortened. The only things on this computer right now are Chrome, Steam, Skype, Itunes and Civ 5. If you have any idea whats going on, please let me know!

We need 2 things.  The DMP files from the crashes and the event viewer log.

We do need the actual log files (called a DMP files) as they contain the only record of the sequence of events leading up to the crash, what drivers were loaded, and what was responsible.

Please follow our instructions for finding and uploading the files we need to help you fix your computer. They can be found here If you have any questions about the procedure please ask

Please provide us with your Event Viewer administrative logs by following these steps:

Click Start Menu
Type eventvwr into Search programs and files (do not hit enter)
Right click eventvwr.exe and click Run as administrator
Expand Custom Views
Click Administrative Events
Right click Administrative Events
Save all Events in Custom View As...
Save them in a folder where you will remember which folder and save as Errors.evtx
Go to where you saved Errors.evtx
Right click Errors.evtx -> send to -> compressed (zipped) folder
Upload the .zip file to Onedrive or a file sharing service and put a link to it in your next post * If you have updated to win 8.1 and you get the error message "the system cannot find the file specified" it is a known problem.  The work around is to edit the registry.  If you are not comfortable doing this DONT.  If you are, backup the key before you do Press Win+"R" and input regedit
Navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\WINEVT\Channels. Delete "Microsoft-Windows-DxpTaskRingtone/Analytic"

my suggestion try to reinstall the driver from recovery manager

and try to check at safe mode with networking, if issue still persist, I suspected this supposed to be HW issue, if not happen in safe mode with networking maybe software issue

Please also contact HP regarding HW troubleshooting, and since I believe your laptop still under warranty

and yes, investigate your dump file will found the exact caused this issue

good luck

Where are the DMP files?  So far in event viewer I have found that McAfee has crashed at least 50 times.  Remove it.

Other event viewer problems  Most important first

BIOS is limiting performance (check for update)

There is a CPU issue (see snip 1)

Your router is what is causing the internet to lose connectivity (see snip 2)

Quite a few store app problems

You have failed the HP registration (small problem only)'

Bon Jour (itunes) is broken

I would start by uploading the DMP files and running a system file check.  When all of these are sorted you will need to run some hardware tests to rule out hardware issues

Please run a system file check (SFC)
All instructions are in our Wiki article below...
Should you have any questions please ask us.

Hi Indigo ,

Will the other devices connected to the router suffer a network issue ?It will help us to verify whether it is caused by the router.

According to the logs you have posted ,there are several problems with the machines .
It seems to include a hardware issue with the machine :

Please take ZigZag`s suggestion  to have a fix ,we also can run "dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth" to have a health check of the system .
Apart from this ,I also recommend you to run the built-in tool to have a diagnostic :
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories\Hardware and Devices ,Network Adapter

Considering you have got this machine only for 6 months .This machine must be in warranty .It is recommended to look for help from the manufacturer .

Best regards
