My 3 Computers using Win XP Home will not correctly hook up to newly installed high speed cable modem.
in the tray they show the icon for lan, also says connected to inet... the router shows by lighted leds, that there is a connection... but when I open IE or firefox or try to update virus defs oranything needing to be connected to the i-net I get "page cannot be displayed" no connection. All attemts fail to diagnose or repair the problem. What can the problem be????1 person got this answerI do too

Check the router setup. The cable modem should be connected to the WAN or Internet port. The computers should be connected to LAN ports. Turn the router and cable modem power off, wait 10 seconds, and turn the power back on. Check the status lights on both of them. Contact your cable Internet service provider and verify that your account is up and working and that the modem is getting signal.
