Multiple reappearing control panel icons
I haven't accessed the Control Panel directly since they made that wierd wizard view, it was classic for me or none at all. I just customize the start menu control panel option to be a list and you can select whatever you want from a cascading menu instead. Howeversince Vista one of the options you had under customize desktop icons was to add the control panel to the desktop along with My Computer, Recycle Bin, etc. Well I didn't have this issue in the beta but do in RC1. I do NOT have the control panel option to appear on the desktop selected and I get a control panel icon anyways. In fact I get 2 of them, one that displays on a "desktop" toolbar and another where the pinned icons like IE are on the taskbar. I delete the one on the pinned area and in no time at all it reappears. If I delete that one as well as the one on the desktop toolbar they both reappear automatically.I have confirmed that I do NOT have the Control Panel icon on the desktop selected. I can reproduce this anomaly on multiple computers with multiple installations of RC1.Mark

Here is another way to display all Control Panel tasks, click the Windows Orb (Start) and Copy & Paste shell:::{ED7BA470-8E54-465E-825C-99712043E01C} into the search box and press Enter. You may have to click it at the top of the list if it doesnt open when you press Enter. To create a permanent link drag the All Tasks icon shown in the display to the Desktop.
