Multiple display blackout problem - Windows 7 (x64) and NVIDIA GeForce 105M
I have a HP latptop with NVidia GeForce 105 M graphics card with Windows 7 (64 bit) and Windows Vista installed on it. Win7 When I connect the HDMI or VGA cable from the TV to the laptop, both the laptop display and my TV display BLACKS out and my laptop becomes unusable. The only option is to hard reboot it! I have the most recent driver for the 105M card. Is there some to get some debug logs to understand what is happening? Vista When I boot the same laptop in Vista and connect it to the same TV, both the displays work fine! Appreciate your help in this regard.

I have the most recent drivers for my graphics card from NVIDIA. I have been constantly updating them as and when they are released for the past 6 months in hopes for fixing this issue :(

What is the exact model and series of your laptop? did you ensure is was Win 7 compatible before installing win 7? If it came with Win 7 then you need to have HP check it out. My laptop model is HP Pavilion DV3T-2000 The model came with Win Vista but I go tmy Win 7 upgrade from HP and hence I assume its compatible with it. Other than HP support, is there something I can do to see what is happening when I connect the external display?

Please try uninstalling the display card driver and then reinstalling the latest driver provided by HP: 1. Click the Start Button, type Device Manager in the Search bar and press "Enter". Click Continue if necessary. 2. Double click to expand the "Display adapters". 3. Right click the display card and click "Uninstall". 4. Restart the computer. 5. Go to HP's website to download and install NVIDIA GeForce G 105M Graphics Driver for Windows 7 x64. Hope this helps. Please remember to click Mark as Answer on the post that helps you, and to click Unmark as Answer if a marked post does not actually answer your question. I did uninstall and re-install the latest NVIDIA drivers, but it did not change anything. When I connect my HDMI cable, both the displays blackout and the only option I am left with is to hard reset it.
