Multiple Wireless Network Connections
I have Vista Business edition on my laptop. The problem that i'm having is I have two different wireless networks I need to connect too. One is automatic with the DHCP issuing IP numbers for all devices. The other is set to manual where we have to enter our IP numbers in. What I did was in the network settings of the wireless TCP/IP properties, was to use the alternative configuration and I manually entered the IP numbers there, this way leaving the first choice automatic. But this slows down the autoconnect down to over a minute. Is there a way with Vista to have special settings for each wireless setup without using the alternative configuration in the TCP/IP settings? Or is there a way to speed up the wireless detection settings? Please let me know thanks :)Lorry

Hi Lorry, I have a similar problem with multiple network connections. I have an Acer Aspire Laptop with Vista-64 Home Premium, Ethernet & Wi-Fi. I provide accounting services for several small farms & ranches in the area. They allow me to connect to their network to work; some have dhcp support & some don't. I have to change the domain or workgroup name; In some cases I have to hard code the IP & DNS addresses; Change the default printer. Most of my customers do NOT have internet access, the few that do, only have dial-up; so GoToMyPc.com can't be used.My question is: Is there some way I could create several profiles or a set batch (.bat) scripts to make ALL network related changes with one click?TIA,Rob
