Multiple Outlook Mail Profiles
Recently got a new work laptop with Vista Enterprise installed. Previously on XP, I had multiple email account profilesset up - one for company mail, one for client mail. Now, when I try and set up another email profile (with mail type = exchange), I get the following error: The action cannot be completed. The connection to Microsoft Exchange is unavailable. Outlook must be online or connected to complete this action.I've tried this same setup on co-worker's machines, and when I enter the Exchange server details and do a 'check names', I get the outlook prompt to enter servername/userid/password.Anyone know what setting is restricting multiple mail profiles?

Hi P.N.C., thanks for the post. After checking the issue, it seems this is a general Exchange/Outlook related issue. As this forum focuses on Windows Vista specific issues, this inquiry would best be posted to the following forum: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/exchangeserver The reason why we recommend posting appropriately is you will get the most qualified pool of respondents, and other partners who read the forums regularly can either share their knowledge or learn from your interaction with us. Thank you for your understanding. Also, for your information, I'd like to include the following articles regarding the issue: Error messages when you try to connect Outlook 2007 to Exchange Server: "The action cannot be completed" or "Your Microsoft Exchange Server is unavailable" or "Cannot start Microsoft Office Outlook" http://support.microsoft.com/kb/913843 Hope this helps!Sean Zhu - MSFT
