Multiple Network Configurations
I just got a Netbook to use at all my clients and they all have different setups for their wireless networks. The netbook came through with Windows 7. I'm trying to setup different networks nad just fix an ip address per location as the numbers schemes vary as well as the gateways. It seems that I am unable to assign a specific IP and gateway [and DNS's] to the locations. Is there a way to do this with WINDOWS 7 ? For example Client 1 has gateway of 192.168.1.1 and IP available of 192.168.1.101 with DNS's from Comcast and Client 2 has gateway of 192.168.0.1 and IP available of 192.168.1.133 with DNS's from Verizon FIOS. Any ideas ? Thanks Thanks Ricardo

Ricardo, I think that one approach is to create script per customer to configure your Netbook. You can use this article I found for the commands that can be used. simply set up a batch file using the appropriate commands. http://www.petri.co.il/configure_tcp_ip_from_cmd.htm Visit: anITKB.com, an IT Knowledge Base.

TCPProfilesManager is a tool that I use when I switch back and forth between buildings/work/home. http://www.guidingtech.com/5010/set-multiple-network-profiles/ tells you how it works.
